Three Naked Ladies

Sorry, not humans, I was referring to the lovely flowers. Naked Ladies are also called Amaryllis belladonna. I threw out an external hard drive I could not access but Hubby, in his great wisdom, decided to fish it out of the bin and set is aside for when I come to the realisation that perhaps, the reason I could not read the files is because it’s formatted for a Mac and I was using a PC to access it. The “eureka moment” did come – after a few months – six to be exact – but it came. I’m so glad he had the foresight to keep it.

Anyway, these photos were taken 2010, while I was still living in Hamilton. I think I spent the weekend at my mum’s (then) place at Ohinewai, a sleepy township about 40 minutes drive north of Hamilton City. While I was there, I saw these lovely blooms and took photos of the three varieties that were enjoying the sun. Of the three varieties I saw, I like the one with the dark magenta stripes on the petals the most. They are just gorgeous!

That's not exactly a flattering image. Eh! Anyway, when I'm not taking photos, I do acrylic painting or write about my adventures (and misadventures) in this wonderful journey called life. :)
