This is Gorgeous Little Miss E.

Last June, I was asked by her mum to cover her 1st birthday party. Mum had someone photograph her first born's birthday and she found having an event photographer around (even if it's just for a child's birthday) helped her A LOT. It's one less task to delegate and worry about thus, she, her family and friends, can focus on what's important - celebrating Little Miss E's special day.

Little Miss E's party was scheduled in August -and we all know what happened then, right? Yep, Level 4 LOCKDOWN (thank you, Covid). So we rescheduled for September - but that didn't work either because, even though New Plymouth was no longer in Level 4, the restrictions for Level 3 meant her party cannot push through. 

Since having a get-together was looking unlikely, Mum asked if we could have a small family portrait session instead. Mum told me she wanted nice images of Little Miss E in her birthday dress so she could send one to the lady who made the frock. We looked at doing it one weekend in October, but that fizzled out too because (1) I was stranded in Hamilton for 17 days) and (2) she and her children also fell ill. So we tried again in November - and well - the weekend weather during that month was absolutely atrocious.  

December wasn't looking particularly great either but - there was a small window of opportunity on Saturday, 11th December. The forecast was that there will be a cloudy break from endless rain in the morning - so we took a chance and ... well everything turned out great.

Little Miss E showed up armed with such a bright and lovely smile we didn't really need the sun. She's also such a little trooper! She had a wee fall while we were walking around and, whilst she shed a few tears, she picked herself up, (literally) kicked off her shoes - and just continued being her gorgeous, happy self.
